Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure
We would rather tell you exactly how this site makes money than leave you guessing. This page is that explanation, and it is written to meet the disclosure expectations of the US Federal Trade Commission, the UK Advertising Standards Authority and equivalent rules elsewhere.
How this site is funded
Display advertising. We may show ads supplied by Google AdSense. We do not choose the individual advertisers and being an advertiser buys no influence over our content.
Affiliate links. Some links to travel services (eSIMs, insurance, money transfer) pay us a commission if you sign up through them. The price you pay is the same either way.
Paid guides. We sell PDF travel guides.
Sponsorship. We may accept sponsorship of a page, newsletter or series. Where we do, it is labelled at the top of that page in plain words, not in a footnote.
What money cannot buy
Our data does not have a price. No advertiser, affiliate or sponsor can change a visa status, a country's stay duration, a route budget or a safety note. If a partner asked us to soften a warning, we would refuse and end the relationship.
We do not publish paid reviews presented as independent ones, and we do not accept payment for a link inside an article without labelling it.
How you can tell
Affiliate and sponsored links carry the HTML attribute rel="sponsored" and are visibly marked where they appear. Sponsored pages carry a label at the top. If you ever find a commercial link on this site that is not marked, tell us at seyyahlabtravel@gmail.com and we will fix it.
Recommendations
When we recommend a service, it is because we or people we trust have used it, or because it is the standard option for that need. A commission does not move something up a list. Where a free alternative exists, we say so.
